Students at Bacon District Elementary School will have all their school supplies donated this year according to the school’s principal, William Pettus.

Pettus said Atlantic Constructors, a subcontractor with Microsoft would be sponsoring a “Pack the Packs” event at the Bacon District Open House Aug. 8 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“This will hopefully lessen the burden that parents face in getting their students ready for the new school year and help our students to get off to a great start,” said Pettus.

The company will have representatives on hand at Bacon District Elementary during the open house to distribute supplies to students as they visit their classes.

Students should come to the open house with a backpack or bag to collect the supplies.

“This huge gift is greatly appreciated by all,” said School Board member Gloria Talbot. “The students will have the necessary tools to get a good start to the new school year.”
