The weather is getting warmer and everyday we have the beauty of new life springing forth. It is a time of great beauty and for some — terrible allergies. The hummingbirds have arrived, the bees are awake and nature is in full swing. People are coming out to receive the beauty that God is supplying. The sun is shining, and the warmth is here.

Before we became a Christ Follower the Word says that we once lived in darkness, but when we find Christ – He calls us into His marvelous light. Better than spring, better than that sunny warmth. For all eternity we can and will be it in the beauty of Christ.

However, until we meet Jesus; face to face we will have trials and tribulations. The Word teaches us, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) We have the promise that, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Many of us like a “terrible allergy” can struggle to enjoy the beauty that God provides for us. It is so easy, to tangle up in everything that is going on around us or happening to us. We are human and we hurt. In those times, as a Christ Follower, we must turn our heart and our mind to God. He is where we find our comfort and our strength. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” (2 Corinthians 1:3) We must remember that the Holy Spirit empowers us because He lives within us. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39)

The one thing about a Christ Follower, we do not pick up our cross and follow Jesus all by ourselves. The Holy Spirit helps us. No matter what we face or what we are going through we will be OK. Not because of what we do, but because of the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us. Take comfort this week wherever you are and know that God is with you in every season of life. Even when life’s allergies try to get us down – He is there!
